Have you ever wondered as to why we normally associate Krishna with colour blue?
- Have a few chain of thoughts on this topic to share with you…
Let’s first refer to the Vedas…
- There we will not find a direct reference to Krishna, as they were written long time before He arrived on Earth…
- However, what we do find is a significant explanation behind the symbolism of the blue colour…
- Firstly, both are usually coloured blue…
- And that both appear infinite and filled with possibilities…
- Identical to our creation…
- A creation to which Vishnu is the preserver…
- Leading to the conclusion in the Vedas that He is of colour blue…
- And then we reach to the colour of the Avatars of Vishnu…
- Where we find a paradox…
- As to why Ram is not associated with the colour blue?
- I believe this with the aspects of Vishnu that both of them represented (Ram and Krishna)…
- Which is quite different between the two…
- Ram was the aspect that emphasized the values of duty, honour, and adherence to moral principles…
- Which is earthly in nature…
- And on the other end is Krishna who explored more profound philosophical concepts like Karma, Dharma, and Bhakti…
This is why often it is assumed that Krishna was not an Avatar but rather Vishnu himself existing on the mortal realm…
